Money magazine has rated Boulder as one of the nation’s top small cities. Located northwest of downtown Denver, Boulder offers a quality of life that appeals to people who are physically active, as well as those who love the arts, education, and solitude. The city is proud of its historic, well-preserved buildings and its vibrant retail and commercial businesses. Boulder has more than 300 restaurants and entertainment establishments, as well as a host of art galleries and hike-and-bike paths. Boulder is home to the annual Bolder Boulder 10K race and Creek Festival, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, the Boulder County Farmer’s Market and numerous other sports and cultural activities. The city sits in the shadows of the impressive Flatirons, and is surrounded by 30,000 acres of open space. In addition, the city has many urban parks, two public outdoor pools, a reservoir for boating and swimming, and a city-owned golf course. Higher educational institutions include the University of Colorado, Naropa University and Front Range Community College. | www.ci.boulder.co.us
